Provision Living, operator of Oak Pointe of Monett, has announced Bobbie Misner as the senior living community’s executive director. The $7 million Oak Pointe assisted living and memory care community is currently under construction and scheduled to open in Summer 2016. The community is also seeking to fill additional leadership positions in the coming months.
Misner, a resident of Sarcoxie, Missouri, is a licensed nursing home administrator. She previously held administrator positions in Kansas City and Joplin. Misner was introduced to the healthcare profession early on by her mother, a nurse who worked in nursing homes.
“I have always held a special place in my heart for the elderly because of the experiences I had through my mother,” said Misner. “I was immediately drawn to Oak Pointe because I love the idea of giving our seniors a more desirable place to live, and there is no other senior home like this in this area. Seniors deserve the best and I am so pleased that we can give it to them at Oak Pointe. “
Misner plans to hold interviews for several leadership positions at Oak Pointe in the coming months, including community relations manager. Approximately 40 positions of varying levels will be filled prior to opening. Positions currently available at Oak Pointe are posted on the company’s website, and candidates interested in applying can do so by visiting www.oakpointeassistedliving.net/employment.
Upon completion, Oak Pointe of Monett will have a total of 46 apartments, 33 units dedicated to assisted living and 13 dedicated to memory care. The community will offer a mix of studio, one-, and two-bedroom apartments that will be pet friendly and include kitchenettes, ample closet space, and individual climate control. Oak Pointe’s memory care wing will provide those suffering from Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia a truly individualized and comfortable environment with social activities and programs designed to help keep the individual engaged and active.
One of the most unique features of Oak Pointe of Monett is a dedicated storm shelter for residents and staff. The shelter is being constructed with reinforced concrete, masonry and structural steel, and will be large enough to hold all of Oak Pointe’s residents and staff in the event of a tornado.
