The city of Carthage, MO, will soon be home to a state of the art senior living community. Oak Pointe Assisted Living and Memory Care is slated to open it’s doors in May 2016 and is one of three Oak Pointe communities in southwest Missouri.
The economic impact of the construction at all three properties — Carthage, Monett and Neosho — will bring a $22 million investment to the area and will be an integral part of the mixed use Myers Park development at the former site of the city airport.
On March 15, 2016, Oak Pointe hosted a luncheon at Fleur de Lis Café for dozens of city and county officials — including mayor Mike Harris and the executive director of the Carthage Conventions and Visitors Bureau, Wendi Douglas. The event was designed to help officials understand the direct and indirect impact of the area’s newest senior living option.
“Our number one mission is to meet the needs of the Carthage community,” says Mark Williams, community relations director for Oak Pointe. “We are bringing first-class care options to seniors and providing meaningful, well-paying jobs to families in southwest Missouri. We want our team members to have a sense of pride in what they do and to be well compensated for their training, focus and dedication to the care of residents.” The starting pay for all positions exceeds minimum wage.
Oak Pointe is currently accepting applications for employment and will be hiring up to 40 full-time and part-time associates. Currently available positions are posted at at www.oakpointeassistedliving.net/employment/.
Oak Pointe’s 46 apartments include studio, one-, and two-bedroom options. Each is pet-friendly and includes kitchenettes and ample closet space, individual climate control and walk-in showers.
Oak Pointe’s services include 24-hour concierge and reception area; a dining room serving three meals per day; a private dining area large enough to accommodate family and special occasions; chapel; weekly housekeeping and laundry services; a full-time nursing staff; emergency call system with 24-hour onsite response; a wellness center with space for physician visits and therapy services; courtyard and garden areas; a crafts and hobby room; a full-service beauty and barber salon, and free resident and guest parking.
Williams sees a bright future for Oak Pointe and is pleased at how the community has welcomed the new development. “We are so happy to be in such a vibrant location that’s convenient to shopping, dining and entertainment. This type of environment enables us to connect our residents to their community. The entire city of Carthage has just been tremendous and we appreciate everything they’ve done to welcome us.”
Oak Pointe of Carthage is located at 300 West Airport Drive, Carthage, MO 64836. For more information about the community visit www.OakPointeCarthage.com or call (417) 358-3355.
